My Every Day Carry – EDC | 2026 Edition

Welcome to the first 2026 update of my Everyday Carry (EDC) series. For the uninitiated, EDC consists of the essential items you keep on your person regardless of your destination. While the basics usually include a phone and keys, many of us scale up to include specialized tools, tech, and survival gear tailored to our lifestyle.

Below is my current loadout. I’ve recently overhauled my kit, retiring some legacy devices to make room for high-performance upgrades that can keep up with modern demands.

The Tech Stack (Gadgets)

  • Google Pixel 9 Pro XL: My current “daily driver.” In a departure from my usual habit of rooting every device I own, I’ve decided to keep this one stock. The native experience is finally polished enough that I don’t feel the need to tinker.
  • Google Pixel Buds Pro 2: These are the primary audio companion for my Pixel 9. They feature solid noise cancellation and support Gemini Live for hands-free AI access. I particularly like the conversation detection, which automatically switches to transparency mode the moment I start speaking to someone.
  • Casio Royale AE1200WH Series (AE1200WHD-1A): I’ve swapped the smartwatch for this “World Time” classic. It’s legendary for its durability and battery life, plus, it adds a timeless, utilitarian aesthetic to the kit.
  • UGREEN 145W Power Bank (25,000mAh): In 2026, fast-charging on the go is a must. This high-capacity unit ensures my Pixel and peripherals never hit zero, even during heavy use.
  • SanDisk 256GB Ultra Dual Drive (USB-C/3.1): I’ve upgraded my storage to this dual-interface drive. It’s loaded with MediCat USB, a massive step up from my old GEGeek toolkit, allowing me to diagnose and repair PCs directly via USB-C or standard USB. I’ve also added a bunch of OS ISOs to this for quick installs and fixes where needed. This is a result of being the “tech-savvy” one in the family.

Hardware & Utility (Tools)

  • Gerber Shard Keychain Tool: This remains a staple on my keyring (I actually keep one on my personal set and one on my work set). It’s perfect for those “I wish I had a tool” moments, acting as a pry bar, wire stripper, bottle opener, and multi-size screwdriver in one tiny package.
  • Gerber Paraframe II Tanto: A rugged, reliable blade for daily utility. Note: This is my “almost” everyday carry; due to security restrictions at my workplace, it stays in the car during office hours.
  • Ti2 Titanium Wallet: Minimalist, virtually indestructible, and incredibly light. It’s the perfect way to carry cards and cash without the bulk of a traditional leather bifold.

Daily Maintenance (Morale)

  • Blistex Medicated Lip Balm: If you’ve ever spent time in Las Vegas during triple-digit temperatures, you know this isn’t optional. The desert heat is brutal, and keeping this on hand prevents the distraction and discomfort of cracked lips. Just remember to not leave it in your vehicle and make sure it is upright in your pocket!

What does your 2026 loadout look like? Have you moved back to analog watches, or are you still team smartwatch? Let me know in the comments!
